Winter Fantasy 2 Doll Tonner Convention Centerpiece Complete Ultra Rare HTF
Winter Fantasy is a two doll set produced by Tonner Dolls’ renowned doll artist Robert Tonner. The set was made exclusively for Tonner’s North East Fashion Doll Convention in 2006. The set was used as table Centerpieces at the convention. Only 50 of each of the two dolls were made. The female doll in the set is Tyler Wentworth. Tyler is on the 16 Bending Wrist body. She has fabulous face paint, with painted brown eyes, painted upper and lower eyelashes and a red mouth. Tyler wears a faux-fur hat with an intricate faux diamond pin at the center front and lacy shiny silver trim in the front. Her voluminous gown is adorned with gold embroidery and has an inset skirt panel of decorated mesh in front. Fur trim to match her hat encircles her wrists and the bottom of the dress. The same fur adorns the neckline. Please see the full length picture of the dolls above to see the placement of the faux-fur. Her jewelry consists of a pair of circular bead dangle earrings. Her only other accessory is a pair of white high heel shoes with open backs and closed toes. The male doll in the set is Matt O’Neill. Matt is approximately 17 tall. Matt has painted blue eyes rimmed with painted upper and lower eyelashes. His mouth is painted a shade of light peach color. Matt’s faux-fur hat features an intricate silvertone ornament with attached silvery braid ribbon dangle. Tyler has long glossy rooted dark brown hair styled in a mass of individual curls. Matt’s hair is light brown and falls to about chin length. As shown in the first picture above, Matt wears a white’shirt’ with separate white pants. The’shirt’ closes in back with snaps and the front is adorned with silver ball buttons and braid ribbon. His half cape worn over his left shoulder is white and trimmed with white faux-fur. It attaches across the chest to the back of the cape with a hidden snap at the end of a silver braid ribbon. White boots trimmed in silver complete his ensemble. I note that his white suit has some age yellowing. This is mostly at the upper back of the suit along the closure and near the neckline and is covered by his cape. There is also what I believe to be some age yellowing along the row of silver “button” beads on the right side of his suit – that would be the left side in the photo at left. I don’t know what caused this as the dolls have both been kept in their boxes in the closet of my dedicated doll room and Matt is the only one of the two dolls where such yellowing has occurred. Each doll has its own COA (included) showing the edition size and the name of the convention where the dolls were displayed as the convention centerpiece. Tyler’s box is in good condition with some rubs that always seem to happen when the box is slid in or out of the shipper and a slight mark at the end of the red box obviously made when the shipper was opened (probably by the tip of a boxcutter when preparing the doll for display on a table at the convention). The shipper is free of mailing labels and is shown next to the box. Tyler’s original stand is included and I note that there is some sort of residue on the clear acrylic base of the stand. It looks like glue or museum gel residue used on the stand to stabilize the doll on display on the stand and keep it stable on the table. Matt’s black box is in good condition with a few slight rubs that always seem to happen when the box is slid in or out of the shipper and a slight mark at the end of the black box obviously made when the shipper was opened (probably by the tipoff a boxcutter when preparing the doll for display on a table at the convention). I note that the cardboard liner for the black box has tears where Matt’s stand and stand base were taken out of the box at the convention. I have taped over these tears. Matt’s original stand is included. Both dolls have been kept in their boxes in the closet of my climate controlled dedicated doll room in my smoke free home.
